An AI-powered nude tool that undresses women is being advertised on X accounts.

A network of multiple X (formerly Twitter) accounts is reportedly helping AI-powered nude services circumvent regulations and reach a wider audience.

According to Matthew Patan, a senior researcher at Graphika , a social network analytics company that tracks online misinformation, some AI-powered nude services use social media accounts that employ similar imagery to promote their services.

One social media account network contains as many as 45,000 X accounts, and it appears that posts use indirect language and censored images to avoid censorship. Below is an example of a promotional post for an AI nude service that is spreading on X.

The account that Mr. Patan discovered advertised an AI nude service without resorting to explicit explanations. It used casual language and gentle expressions, and guided users to the nude tool without explaining all of its functions.

One of the AI nude services advertised on the X account network is 'Undress AI,' based in Belize, Central America. Undress AI advertises that it can create videos for $59 (approximately 9500 yen). Users can undress the subject and make them pose sexually. Undress AI also reportedly has a referral function that rewards users with credits for inviting friends to use the service.

Victims of this type of nude photo service are left to deal with the damage after nude photos they have no knowledge of are spread online. In reported cases, fake nude images have spread through Snapchat, school hallways, and social networks, forcing families to seek help from schools and the police to have the images removed.

In another case, a female student in Iowa was targeted by a group of boys, and nude photos created with Undress AI were spread among her classmates, leading her to stop attending school and take classes online.

Problems arising from AI-powered nude services have become increasingly serious in recent years.

While X broadly prohibits misleading behavior, Digital Trends points out that 'organized advertising of nude services needs stricter enforcement. As in this case, it is still possible to lure users to dangerous tools like nude services while avoiding obvious keywords.'

Furthermore, the article states, 'What's noteworthy is whether the platform can detect such campaigns before they spread. It's important to protect personal images whenever possible, report impersonation promptly, and save evidence before posts disappear.'
