'/e/OS' is an open-source smartphone operating system that de-Googles Android. While adopting core Android technology, it is separated from Google apps and services, preventing personal information from being collected by Google. It is being developed by the e Foundation .
The home screen of '/e/OS' is as follows. It uses a flat design and looks very similar to iOS.

Swipe sideways on the home screen to access a search box, suggestions that predict which apps the user is likely to use, a display of how many data breaches have been prevented in the last 30 days, and privacy features that prevent tracking, provide a false geolocation, and hide your IP address.

It provides a consolidated report of when and how much tracking by apps occurred.

Here's what the email app looks like: '/e/OS' is compatible with all Android apps, but your data privacy is protected. Privacy is protected without sacrificing your digital experience.

The app stores are listed below. They are not the App Store or Google Play, but rather their own app stores, which distribute apps available through the app distribution site ' F-Droid .' '/e/OS' can decode app code, check what tracking features the app has, and give an installed app a score to determine whether it's safe or not.

The message app looks simple as shown below.

The calendar app also has a very simple UI.

When using a map app to navigate from one location to another, the navigation is as follows:

An example of 'de-Google-ing' '/e/OS' is as follows.
The default search engine for web browsers is no longer Google Search and has been replaced with Murena , which is being developed as an ethical search engine.
Google Play Services , which connects apps to various Google services, has been replaced with GmsCore , a free alternative to Google Play Services.
- The connection check does not access Google's servers.
・Google's NTP server is not used.
・Google DNS is not used.
For geolocation , we use not only GPS but also the public domain radio location database beaconDB .

Smartphones running the /e/OS are also available. The latest model, the 6th generation Murena Fairphone, is available at the time of writing. It features a 4415mAh removable battery, a 50-megapixel Sony main camera module, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform SoC, 256GB of storage, 8GB of RAM, 5G connectivity, and a 6.31' main display with a resolution of 2484 x 1116 pixels.
