Opening and closing the refrigerator door isn't that much of a hassle. However, there are times when you don't want to open and close the door by hand, such as when your hands are full holding ingredients or utensils, or when your hands are dirty from cooking. It's also possible that you have some kind of health problem or illness that makes it difficult to move your arms and legs.
Samsung's AI refrigerator, Family Hub, is equipped with its proprietary voice assistant, Bixby, which allows users to control the refrigerator by voice. Users can easily open and close the refrigerator door by simply saying 'close the refrigerator door' or 'open the door.'
The new Family Hub also features built-in AI Vision, which works in conjunction with Google's Gemini 3, allowing the AI to accurately recognize what has been put into and taken out of the refrigerator.
This allows Family Hub to create shopping lists with notes on ingredients you're missing, create menus based on what's in your fridge, and suggest recipes to reduce food waste.

During the CES 2026 announcement, Kim Cheol-gi, executive vice president and head of Samsung's digital home appliance division, announced that ' SmartThings will serve more than 430 million users as of December 2025.'
Samsung CEO Roh Tae-moon said in an interview with Reuters, 'Samsung has provided Gemini with AI functions on approximately 400 million mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, by 2025. Samsung also revealed that it aims to increase this number to 800 million by 2026.'
Samsung also announced the 130-inch 'Micro RGB TV,' the ultra-thin OLED projector 'S95H,' and the Vision AI Companion (VAC)-powered portable projector 'Freestyle +.' The Micro RGB TV is equipped with the 'Micro RGB AI Engine Pro,' which precisely controls RGB color to achieve overwhelmingly vivid image quality in any scene, and the AI companion 'VAC,' which can give advice on what to watch and what music to listen to.
