'Historie' is a manga that depicts the life of Eumenes, a scribe who served Alexander the Great, and is a work that Iwaaki had been revising the concept of even before he made his debut as a manga artist.
Regarding the anime adaptation, Iwaaki commented, 'I would like to thank everyone involved in the production of this anime. The idea for the story was born more than 40 years ago, and drawings on paper began to be created in a small workroom some 20 years ago. Now, I would like to celebrate from the bottom of my heart that it has been given moving life by the hands of so many people.'

The animation will be produced by Liden Films , which has worked on such works as ' Tanzaburou Higashijima Wants to Become a Kamen Rider ' and ' Yofukashi no Uta .' Other staff and cast members have yet to be announced.
The original manga has already published 12 volumes. The series has been on a long hiatus since August 2022 in order for Iwaaki to expedite production.
