According to Bloomberg, SpaceX is planning an initial public offering (IPO) aimed at raising significantly more than $30 billion, which would value the company at about $1.5 trillion, according to people familiar with the matter.
The price per share will be about $420 (about ¥65,800), employees will be allowed to sell shares worth about $2 billion (about ¥313 billion), and SpaceX itself will participate in a share buyback program. Part of the funds raised will also be used for a project to build a data center in space.
Regarding the timing of the IPO, multiple sources have stated that 'SpaceX's management and advisors are aiming for a listing in mid- to late 2026.' However, one source said, 'It could be delayed until 2027.' IPO planning has already begun, and in recent days, SpaceX's board of directors, including Musk, have reportedly been advancing the IPO and fundraising plans, including hiring key positions and how the proceeds will be used.
SpaceX is deploying its satellite internet service ' Starlink ' around the world, and the total number of Starlink satellites launched reached 10,000 in October 2025. The majority of SpaceX's revenue comes from Starlink, and SpaceX officials expect the company to generate revenue of approximately $15 billion (approximately 2.35 trillion yen) in 2025 and $22 billion to $24 billion (approximately 3.45 trillion to 3.76 trillion yen) in 2026.
