Gemini-compatible surveillance camera 'Google Nest Cam' has been released, allowing you to analyze the captured content and search the history with Gemini
Google released the Google Nest Cam Outdoor (power adapter type / 2nd generation) and Google Nest Cam Indoor (power adapter type / 3rd generation) on October 1, 2025. These smart cameras allow users to view captured images over the network. The second-generation Google Nest Cam Outdoor is a smart camera capable of recording at 2560 x 1440 pixels. It's waterproof and dustproof to the IP65 standard, and it's equipped with a high-power infrared LED that can illuminate up to 6.1 meters, so you can continue to record your surroundings even in the rain or at night.
The third-generation Google Nest Cam Indoor is designed for indoor use and is cheaper but lacks waterproof and dustproof capabilities.
Both cameras are scheduled to be compatible with Gemini for Home in early 2026, enabling more detailed video analysis than ever before, allowing users to check who is in the picture and what they are doing from their smartphone.
