4o Image Generation is an image generation function available in ChatGPT and Sora that uses GPT-4o knowledge to generate highly accurate images, and can also improve image quality through dialogue with AI.

'It's been a crazy first week for ChatGPT images,' OpenAI Chief Operating Officer Brad Lightcap said in a Twitter post. 'Since last Tuesday (March 26), over 130 million users have generated over 700 million images.'

4o Image Generation was made available to free users on April 1st local time, but free users can only generate a few images per day. In a post on April 1st local time, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said, 'We are trying to control the situation, but please understand that from time to time, new releases from OpenAI may be delayed, something may break, or the service may be slower as we deal with capacity issues.'

According to The Economic Times, an English-language daily newspaper in India, India's Ministry of Electronics and Communications Technology has allocated 5,517,500 crore rupees (about 9.5 billion yen) in the 2024-25 budget for strengthening AI infrastructure, including procuring GPUs, as the country promotes AI.
