'Craft Boss Frozen Latte Frappe' is a drink that you can freeze in the freezer, shake and drink, and enjoy a refined sorbet with a crunchy texture.

Suntory's 'Craft Boss' coffee series' first frappe type, ' Craft Boss Frozen Latte Frappe ', will be released on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. I had the opportunity to try 'Craft Boss Frozen Latte Frappe', which is supposed to be frozen in the freezer, then taken out and shaken when it starts to melt, so you can enjoy a sorbet-like texture, so I actually froze it and tried it.

'Craft Boss Frozen Latte Frappe' looks like this. It is frozen in the freezer beforehand.

The product name was 'Coffee Soft Drink'. The ingredients were milk, sugar, dairy products, coffee, glucose, edible oils and fats. The content was 440ml, and the calories were 60kcal per 100ml, or 264kcal per bottle.

The 'best way to drink it' was explained in a four-panel comic strip. The best time to drink it was when the edges start to melt, then shake, and when you hear a noise.

So, we decided to freeze some Craft Boss Frozen Latte Frappe in the freezer until it was rock hard, and then leave it in a room temperature environment of about 23 degrees.

Below is the state after 30 minutes of leaving it. When you hold it, it is still solid and almost ice, but if you look closely, it seems to be starting to melt.
So, grab the plastic bottle and shake it as hard as you can.

I poured the contents into a clear glass. I shook it vigorously, but the ice inside was still very hard and only a small amount had melted.

When I tried drinking it in this state, it tasted quite sweet, probably because it was just starting to melt and had a lot of sugar. At the same time, it had a latte-like taste, with a mixture of milk flavor and coffee aroma. However, the amount I could drink was less than a cup, and there was not much ice, so leaving it at room temperature for 30 minutes seemed a little short to say it had a 'sorbet-like texture.'

After another 15 minutes, I shook it again and most of the ice in the bottle had broken down.

When poured into a glass in this state, the latte was squeezed out of the plastic bottle.

By shaking it well, the ice breaks into small pieces and becomes like a sorbet.

I scooped it up with a spoon and tried it. It had a crunchy texture, and I could really taste the aroma of coffee and milk. It seemed less sweet than a latte that had just started to melt. It felt like a cool, refined dessert, perfect for the coming hot season. However, to enjoy it in this state, I had to leave it at room temperature for about 45 minutes after taking it out of the freezer.

'Craft Boss Frozen Latte Frappe' will be released on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The suggested retail price is 220 yen per bottle (excluding tax).
