Konami, the publisher, has warned about 'Silent Hill f,' saying, 'This game contains depictions of sexism, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture, and strong violence. Because the game is set in the 1960s, the depictions are based on the social conditions and customs of the time, and do not reflect the values of the production company or any individuals. If you feel uncomfortable while playing the game, please stop playing at any time and take a break or consult with someone around you.' Japan's Computer Entertainment Rating Organization has assigned the game a 'Z'

age rating , which stipulates that the game should not be sold or distributed to anyone under the age of 18.

Australian Classification, a rating review agency within the Australian government, has determined that 'Silent Hill f' has a 'Refused Classification (RC)'. Australian Classification explains that RC refers to 'films, games, and publications that are not permitted for sale, rental, or legal import in Australia and

contain content that falls outside generally accepted community standards.'

Australian Classification has not disclosed the specific content of 'Silent Hill f' that is subject to RC. PCGamer, an overseas media outlet, speculated that this is because 'Silent Hill f' contains two elements that Australian Classification does not like: 'drug use' and 'abuse by minors.'

This is not the first time that the Australian Classification has designated the Silent Hill series as RC; Silent Hill: Homecoming, released in 2008, was also classified as RC. The game has not been released in Japan either, due to 'various circumstances.'
