Google Maps changes name to 'Gulf of America' but keeps name 'Gulf of Mexico' in Mexico

Following the announcement by the U.S. Department of the Interior that the Gulf of Mexico would be renamed the Gulf of America, Google, which had indicated a policy of 'applying the name change if there was an official change,' has changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America as planned. However, this only affects people in the United States, and in Mexico, it will continue to be called the Gulf of Mexico.
