The RTX 5090 reference board looks like this:
Two fans should be enough to cool it down.
Inside is a Blackwell architecture GPU with 92 billion transistors, providing 4000 AI TOPS, 380 RT TFLOPS, and 125 Shader TFLOPS.
Fan CEO grabs the RTX 5090.
The circuit board around the GPU is quite large.
The RTX 50 series VRAM uses GDDR7. In addition, the RT cores for ray tracing have been upgraded to the 4th generation, and the Tensor cores specialized for AI processing have been upgraded to the 5th generation.
Below is a graph comparing the game rendering frame rates of the RTX 5090 and the RTX 4090. Under certain conditions, the RTX 5090 records a rendering frame rate that is more than twice that of the RTX 4090. In addition, the AI-based game rendering technology 'DLSS 4' is also available, and DLSS 4-compatible games can achieve significant frame rate improvements.
The specs for the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070, and RTX 5070 Ti are as follows. For reference, the specs for the RTX 4090 are also listed.
Model | RTX 5090 | RTX 5080 | RTX 5070 Ti | RTX 5070 | RTX 4090 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|

The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are scheduled to be released on January 30, 2025, and the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 are scheduled to appear in February 2025. The prices in Japan are 393,800 yen for the RTX 5090, 198,800 yen for the RTX 5080, 148,800 yen for the RTX 5070 Ti, and 108,800 yen for the RTX 5070. Fan CEO appeals that 'the RTX 5070 has the same performance as the RTX 4090 but is available at a low price.'
The notebook PC models RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070, and RTX 5070 Ti are also scheduled to be released in March 2025.
