The person who got the RTX 4010 is gadget YouTuber Budget-Builds. Budget-Builds found the RTX 4010 on the website of a Chinese graphics card vendor called Shenzhen Bitland.
After Budget-Builds took a closer look at the RTX 4010, they discovered that it is a single-slot, thin GPU with an NVIDIA-branded cooler, and appears to be a modified version of the
In fact, the RTX A400 is apparently being sold in China by distributors such as PNY, but the graphics card Budget-Builds received was made by Shenzhen Bitland, but it had a PNY sticker on it, and the 'RTX A400' markings were covered by a sticker.
When Budget-Builds plugged the RTX 4010 into its PC,
In addition, the RTX 4010 is slightly more powerful than the RTX A400, has been modified to run on NVIDIA's Chinese driver, and has a clock frequency 200MHz higher than the RTX A400.
The RTX 4010 performed reasonably well in gaming benchmarks, hitting 30-60 fps in most games at 1080p high and ultra settings, but fared less well in ray tracing tests, hitting just 56 fps in
Additionally, due to the lack of proper drivers, AV1 encoding did not work with Source Engine games like ' Half-Life 2, ' and video recording using the AV1 encoder was only possible through OBS.
Budget-Builds is getting the RTX 4010 for about 80 pounds (about 16,000 yen) + 40 pounds (about 8,000 yen) shipping. The RTX A400 is said to be more than 80 pounds in China, so the RTX 4010 is in some sense cost-effective. Budget-Builds said, 'If this graphics board was sold in other countries at the same price as in China, it would be very popular considering the price, since even the cheapest GPUs these days start at about $250 (about 40,000 yen).'
Technology media Tom's Hardware pointed out that 'The RTX 4010 can be used as both an inexpensive gaming GPU and a simple video output card, likely filling a gap in the Chinese market for cheap graphics boards.'
