The 'squid-shaped fork' that was a hot topic on social media has been commercialized. We tried out Nissin Foods' 'Cup Noodles with Squid Fork Set'

Nissin Foods' 'Squid-shaped Fork,' a gag item that has received about 77,000 'likes' on X (formerly Twitter), has been commercialized. I received a ' Cup Noodles with Squid Fork Set ' from Nissin Foods, which is on sale in limited quantities, so I decided to check what shape it was.

This is the original post.

This is the actual product of the commercialized 'Cup Noodle Squid Fork'. The overall length is about 20.5cm. If we measure it precisely, the arms are about 10cm, and the body and head are about 10cm.

The back side looks like this. The 'Cup Noodle Seafood Noodle' logo is printed on it.

Left side.

This is the right side.

The actual weight was 34g.

This is what it looks like when you hold it. It is generally sturdy and stable. It is made of ABS resin (plastic), and because it is thick, it feels stronger to grip than commercially available plastic spoons. I am a bit worried that the tentacles that extend out on both sides might get caught on something and break.

I compared the thickness with

the Hi-Mackie I had on hand. It's a little thinner than the Hi-Mackie, but it's still pretty thick for a fork, and I think it would be tiring to hold it for a long time. So I decided to try it out to see how it really is.

The 'Cup Noodle Squid Fork' will be sold as a set with various cup noodles, and Nissin Foods has also sent me some cup noodles, so I'll eat them.

After adding hot water and waiting for three minutes, it's time to try it.

It goes surprisingly deep.

Combined with the fact that Cup Noodles are curly noodles, it feels like you can scoop up the noodles even if you lift it up rather roughly. As long as you're eating Cup Noodles, there's nothing particularly bothersome about it, it doesn't get tiring to hold, and there are no elements that are lacking as a fork.

In the image on the official website, the lure is held closer to the fin, but holding it here makes it a little unstable.

I recommend holding it by the side closest to the head to stabilize it while eating. The tentacles are a bit of a nuisance.

I normally eat cup noodles with chopsticks so I didn't notice it, but using a fork made it much easier to pull out the ingredients that had settled at the bottom of the soup.

The 'Cup Noodle Squid Fork' will be sold as a set with various cup noodles as the 'Cup Noodle Squid Fork Set'. The suggested retail price is 4,250 yen (tax not included) (4,675 yen including tax), and it will be sold on the Nissin Foods Group
