Chinese EV manufacturer BYD has a huge factory that surpasses Tesla's Gigafactory
Tesla owns several gigantic battery and parts production plants called ' Gigafactories ,' with the Gigafactory Nevada being the largest factory in the world. However, Chinese EV manufacturer
This is BYD starting phase 5, 6, 7 & 8 out of its expansion in Zhengzhou at the same time.

Built next to Zhengzhou land port.
Just watch the number of construction & engineering vehicles + the raw size of this area.

Tesla's Gigafactory Texas in Austin, Texas, is the production site for the Model Y and Cybertruck . It covers an area of 3.3 square miles (about 8.5 square kilometers) and has a floor area of 10 million square feet. The Tokyo Dome is about 10,000 square feet, so it's like having 1,000 Tokyo Domes.
This is what it looks like on Google Maps.
Gigafactory Nevada will be 4.5 square miles in size, larger than the Texas facility, but will only have 5.4 million square feet of floor space.
On the other hand, BYD's factory in Zhengzhou, Henan Province looks like this.
In the satellite image of Google Maps at the time of writing, it is just on the border between the satellite image after construction and the satellite image at the beginning of construction when the surrounding roads had just begun to be developed. There are many residential houses in the surrounding area, so there is not much to realize the size of the factory, but since the display scale of Google Maps is aligned with the Gigafactory, you can see that it is far larger than the Tesla factory, which looked huge.
Construction of BYD's Zhengzhou plant began in September 2021, with shipments of vehicles produced in the first phase of the plant beginning in April 2023. In November of the same year, BYD produced its 6 millionth vehicle. BYD produced its 5 millionth vehicle in August, demonstrating the power of the Zhengzhou plant, which has a monthly production capacity of 400,000 vehicles.
BYD Rolled Off Its 6 Millionth New Energy Vehicle
BYD was founded in 1995 as a battery manufacturer and later entered the automotive industry. When it first entered the market, its vehicles were criticized for having poor manufacturing precision, and other manufacturers did not consider it a threat. However, it continued to manufacture cars and eventually overtook Tesla in 2024 to become the number one seller of EVs.
