Poet Shuntaro Tanikawa has passed away. Born to philosopher Tetsuzo Tanikawa as his father, he was a 'national' poet of modern Japan who had been writing poetry for over 70 years.

In addition to the 'Self-Selected Poems of Shuntaro Tanikawa,' which contains 173 carefully selected poems by Tanikawa himself, we received a great deal of support from him in distributing e-books that include his own readings of his poems, as he once said, 'Poetry is something to be read with the eyes and listened to with the ears at the same time.' He has also helped us with the editing of poetry collections by contemporary poets, dialogues, and the translation of children's books.

The poet Shuntaro Tanikawa has passed away.
With 'The Complete Peanuts Collection,' Tanikawa has accomplished the great feat of translating all 17,897 serialized works (!!) spanning 50 years.

Tanigawa has been involved with Schulz's works for 50 years.
In 2019, before the publication of The Complete Peanuts Collection, the first to include all the works, we discovered that there were over 2,000 works that had not yet been translated into Japanese, and we were impressed that they were so willing to take on this task.

Fortunately for Japanese readers, the words of Snoopy and friends are inscribed in Tanigawa's words. We offer our deepest condolences.
