Apple's Find My update lets you share a URL showing the current location of lost items with others
Apple has updated its lost item search app 'Find' and announced that it has added a URL sharing function ' Share Item Location ' that displays the current location of lost items. Share Item Location has been released as part of the public beta version of iOS 18.2. It has also been decided that several airlines will be able to use Find to locate luggage in the coming months.

'Find My' can pinpoint the location of lost items by utilizing the network formed between Apple products such as iPhones and Macs. If the lost item is compatible with 'Find My,' you can find its location even if you lose your Internet connection, as long as there is an Apple device nearby.
The newly added Share Item Location allows you to share the location of a lost item identified in 'Find' with others. The screen when using Share Item Location looks like this.
When you run Share Item Location, a URL will be issued that will display the location of the lost item.
The URL will take you to an interactive website that shows the location of the lost item on a map. This allows people other than the owner to see the location of the lost item. The URL will expire when the lost item is returned to its owner, and will also expire after 7 days.
In conjunction with the announcement of Share Item Location, airlines such as Aer Lingus, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Delta Airlines, Eurowings, Iberia, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airways, and Vueling Airlines have announced that they will incorporate the 'Search' location display function into their baggage location identification services. In addition, it has been decided that Share Item Location will be supported by the International Aviation Information and Telecommunications Agency's (SITA) baggage tracking system 'WorldTracer'.
