On the left is 'Rich Miso Ramen' and on the right is 'Dan Danmen'. First, try the Rich Miso Ramen.
The ingredients for thick miso ramen are powdered miso, sugar, sake lees powder, chili peppers, and alcohol.
Calories are 269kcal per serving.
To cook, open the lid halfway, pour in hot water, close the lid and wait 3 minutes, while keeping the liquid soup on top of the lid to keep it warm.
After 3 minutes, add the liquid soup.
Mix well and it's done.
A sweet aroma wafted from the moment the liquid soup was poured in, and when I put it in my mouth, the rich flavor of sake lees reached my nose. The soup was not overly salty, but had a mellow miso and pork base flavor, with the sake lees slowly blending into it. When I heard the word 'sake lees,' I imagined a rich, sweet smell like sake lees soup, but the sake lees in this ramen did not overpower the flavor, and it was an excellent blend that did not destroy the appearance of 'miso ramen' at all. The sweet corn and spicy chili peppers added nice accents.
Next, we tried the dandan noodles.
The ingredients include sake lees powder, okara powder, sesame paste, and chili bean paste.
Calories are 278kcal per serving.
Pour hot water into this as well and wait 3 minutes.
Add the liquid soup and mix well to finish.
The distinct aroma of the peppercorns is accompanied by the aroma of sake lees, which is much stronger than in thick miso ramen. The base flavor is miso and pork, and it has a mellower taste than regular dandan noodles and is not that spicy. It is recommended for those who want to enjoy a different kind of dandan noodles.
The suggested retail price for both 'Sennen Kojiya Supervised Hakkaisan Sake Lees Rich Miso Ramen/Dan Dan Noodles' is 236 yen (excluding tax) and is available nationwide.
It is also available on Amazon.co.jp. A pack of 12 of both the Rich Miso Ramen and Dandan Noodles is available for 3,000 yen.
