◆ Chuchu Churros Cafe Tokushima Station Branch 'Rice Flour Churros with Original Sugar and Yame Matcha'
As the name suggests, Chuchu Churros Cafe Tokushima Ekimae is located on the first floor of a building in front of the station.
The location is about a 2-minute walk from the station.
The Gourmet Hunt target menu is the '2-piece Churros Set' (800 yen). You can choose from the following flavors: 'Original Sugar,' 'Chocolate,' 'Yame Matcha,' 'Cinnamon,' and 'Soybean Flour.' This time, I chose the 'Original Sugar' and 'Yame Matcha.' There is a 30cm regular size and a 50cm long size, which is the regular size, but the difference in size is so great that it's hard to tell the difference when you put them side by side with your Suica.
Because it's freshly fried, the edges are crispy and the inside is chewy. The soft sweetness of the original sugar goes well with the oil.
On the other hand, 'Yame Matcha' is also an option, as you can taste the bitterness of the matcha rather than its sweetness.
◆ Breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner Door! 'Machi★Asobi Farm Fresh Sudachi Juice'
On the east side of Tokushima Station, above the Nippon Rent-a-Car Tokushima Station East Office, you'll find 'Door!' - Breakfast, Lunch, and Sometimes Dinner.
It's just a short 5-minute walk from the station.
The menu item included in the Gourmet Hunt is 'Machi Asobi Farm Fresh Sudachi Juice' (500 yen). There is a photo spot with sudachi next to the register. Both take-out and eat-in are available. The seats along the wall on the third floor are also equipped with power outlets, which is helpful when your smartphone battery is low. Starting Monday, October 7th, 'Fried Chicken Set Meal with Sudachi' (900 yen) will also be included.
Another nice thing is that along with the postcard, you will also receive a free lunch and drink coupon that can be used until the end of February 2025. If it is the same as previous years, 'Petit Asobi', a special edition of Machi Asobi, will be held in February 2025, so people other than those in the neighborhood may have a chance to use it.
◆Ikezoe Kamaboko Shop 'Fish Cutlet'
This kamaboko shop near Nakasu Market is closed on Sundays, but was open in the morning on October 6th.
The location is here. Gourmet Hunt participating restaurants 'Osakana Shokudo' and 'KROWA BAGELS' are also located within a 3-minute walk.
The gourmet hunt is for purchases of 500 yen or more, so this time I bought a fish cutlet (540 yen including tax).
◆ Shirataki Seimen & ufotable CINEMA 'FFC & Hot Ginger Lemonade'
Handa Somen Noodle Factory's Shirataki Noodles, which has been livening up Machi★Asobi with various original menu items such as '
ufotable CINEMA is located here, in the arcade of Higashi-Shinmachi Shopping Street.
The Gourmet Hunt menu items at ufotable CINEMA are 'Hot Ginger Lemonade' (550 yen including tax) and Shirataki Seimen's 'FFC (Fried Fushimen Consomme Flavor)' (600 yen including tax). Fushimen are the bent ends of somen noodles that are created during the manufacturing process of the noodles, when they are hung on a stick to dry. FFC is fried fushimen noodles with a consomme flavor, and it was a dish that you could enjoy the change in texture, with the thin parts being crispy and the thick parts being chewy and elastic.
◆Our Noodles 'Machi★Asobi Normal Tsukemen'
Our Men is a 'veggie potage-style tsukemen' restaurant located in what feels like a semi-basement location.
The location is here, right next to Shinmachi Bridge.
The four types of tsukemen available for the gourmet hunt are 'normal tsukemen,' 'boiled egg tsukemen,' 'roasted pork tsukemen,' and 'special tsukemen.' The photo shows the normal version (medium, 1,050 yen including tax).
◆Additive-free Taiyaki Shop Kiichi '2 rice flour taiyaki'
In addition to making taiyaki using regular wheat flour, Additive-free Taiyaki Shop Kiichi also serves taiyaki made using rice flour.
The location is here, in Sakogobancho, Tokushima City. It is about a 10-minute walk from JR Sako Station, or about a 5-minute walk from the 'Sakogobancho' bus stop.

This time I ordered the rare 'Indigo Taiyaki.' It is made with indigo powder and is full of polyphenols. Each taiyaki costs 400 yen.
Because it is freshly baked, the dough is fluffy, chewy and piping hot, and the red bean paste inside is piping hot and soft.
◆ Bonus:
Although it is not a Gourmet Hunt target store, I also went to the Awa Odori specialty store 'Za Tori Jiro.' Even in the spring of 2024, when Machi★Asobi was closed, it was one of the stores that enlivened Tokushima as 'Tori★Asobi' and 'Air Machi★Asobi.' Although it was not a target store this time, it held 'Tori★Asobi 2024 Autumn Battle.'
The location is here, 1-20 Tomita-cho, Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture. It's about a 3-minute walk from Ryogokubashi Nishi Park, which is sometimes used as a venue for Machi Asobi, and a straight line from Higashi-Shinmachi Shopping Street towards Ginza Shopping Street.
'Katte ni Gourmet Hunt' menu item, 'Secret Fried Chicken Recchiri' (780 yen including tax). This is the regular menu item 'Secret Fried Chicken' soaked in a spicy sauce. The combination of the juicy chicken fat and the sweet and spicy sauce is excellent, and it goes well with both rice and alcohol.
The 'Naruto Kintoki Baked Brulee with Vanilla Ice Cream' (520 yen including tax) is a self-proclaimed collaboration sweet. The surface of the Naruto Kintoki cut in half is caramelized.
The fluffy sweetness is combined with the sharp sweetness of cool vanilla ice cream.
Due to store holidays and opening hours, it is nearly impossible to visit all the stores in one day, but if you get the chance, try visiting the various stores.
