ShrimpApplePro, an X (formerly Twitter) account that handles Apple-related leaks, has leaked images of the packaging for the unreleased M4-equipped MacBook Pro.

According to the package image, the M4 chip used in the M4-equipped MacBook Pro has a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16GB of RAM (unified memory), and 512GB of storage. The previous model, the M3-equipped MacBook Pro, had an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, so this means two more CPU cores. Note that the previous model also had a 16GB RAM model.

The packaging also states that the M4-equipped MacBook Pro will have three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M3-equipped MacBook Pro has two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

The line listing the specs reads 'SPB/10C CPU/10C GPU/16GB/512GB,' with 'SPB' being an abbreviation for the MacBook Pro's body color, 'Space Black,' and the silver model will be written as 'SLV.'

However, Apple-related media 9to5Mac warns that 'the leak information is unconfirmed, so don't trust it too much.' While it is easy to fake package images, it points out that the leaked image is 'very clever, even if it is fake.' There are also voices saying that the QR code that was added to the package for the first time with the iPhone 16 is also included in the leaked package image.

On the other hand, 9to5Mac points out that the leaked image of the package mentions 'Apple ID,' which is inconsistent because Apple has just transitioned Apple ID to Apple Account .
