Below is a table summarizing the benchmark results of the May 2024 version of Gemini 1.5 Flash and Gemini 1.5 Pro and the September 2024 version announced this time. For both models, the September 2024 version recorded higher scores in most benchmarks. In particular, the benchmark measuring mathematical performance achieved an improvement of about 20%. In addition, visual understanding and coding performance have also improved.
Gemini 1.5 Flash is also focusing on improving processing speed and reducing latency. Google also announced a price cut for Gemini 1.5 Pro. For 128K tokens or less, inputs will be $1.25 per million tokens and outputs will be $2.50 per million tokens. For more than 128K tokens, inputs will be $5 per million tokens and outputs will be $10 per million tokens. The new pricing structure is scheduled to go into effect on October 1, 2024.
