2024 will see major updates to the entire AirPods lineup.

Let's start with the cheapest entry-level model, AirPods.

Creating a single shape that fits naturally in the ears of everyone around the world is an incredible feat.

Apple used cutting-edge modelling tools to build a groundbreaking dataset, generating more than 50 million individual pieces of data.

And now we've created the most comfortable AirPods ever: AirPods 4.

AirPods 4 are equipped with groundbreaking technology powered by the H2 chip.

Sound quality has been greatly improved, delivering richer bass and crystal clear highs, despite the open-ear design.

Personalized spatial audio gets even better with machine learning.

When using Siri, you can respond by simply nodding for 'yes' or shaking your head for 'no.'

It can separate noise and voices in any environment, so you can instantly eliminate surrounding noise.

By simply pressing the pressure sensor on the stem, you can perform various operations such as playing or pausing songs, muting or ending calls.

The charging case is compatible with USB-C.

Total playback time is up to 30 hours.

In addition, a model that supports active noise cancellation has also been released, which is the first time that the entry-level AirPods model supports active noise cancellation.

You can enable the Active Noise Cancellation feature or use the Transparency mode, which lets you hear the ambient sounds around you in a natural way.

The adaptive audio function can automatically reduce noise according to changes in the environment.

Conversation detection seamlessly lowers the media volume when someone starts talking.

In addition, the charging case supports wireless charging.

Additionally, the charging case now has a speaker, making it easier to find the charging case using the Find My app.

Below is a diagram summarizing the features of AirPods 4.

The standard AirPods 4 model costs $129 (21,800 yen including tax in Japan), while the model with active noise cancellation costs $179 (29,800 yen including tax).

Pre-orders will be available from September 10th, with the release date being September 20th.

The selling price of AirPods Max remains unchanged at $549.

The new colors will be available for pre-order from September 10th, with a release date of September 20th.

Next, let's talk about AirPods Pro. As a standalone product, AirPods Pro is said to be the best-selling headphones in the world.

More than 1.5 billion people worldwide have hearing loss.

Over the past few years, Apple has made significant progress in the area of hearing loss.

As part of this effort, Apple is also conducting the largest study of its kind, involving 160,000 participants.

The survey focused on prevention, awareness and support of hearing loss.

Research has found that one in three people are regularly exposed to environmental noise levels that can affect their hearing.

To help minimize exposure to loud noises that could lead to hearing damage, Apple has announced that it will add hearing protection features to AirPods.

Hearing loss is often difficult to notice because it occurs gradually.

In fact, 80% of American adults have not had a hearing test in the last five years.

So today, Apple announced it is bringing its clinically proven Hearing Check to AirPods Pro and iPhone.

This is a simple five-minute test that you can do in the comfort of your own home, where you tap on the screen when you hear a series of tones of different volumes and frequencies.

The results are then displayed clearly in a personalized hearing profile.

The results of the hearing check are stored in the Health app, keeping your privacy safe.

You can get regular checkups, check for hearing loss, and share the results of your checks with a medical institution.

Additionally, it has been shown that up to 75% of people diagnosed with hearing loss do not receive the hearing support they need.

Once the hearing check is complete, the AirPods Pro's personalized hearing assistance features come into play.

There is no need to adjust any settings; the hearing assistance function will be enabled simply by performing a hearing check.

The hearing protection and clinical-grade hearing check features will be available in more than 100 countries and regions around the world, including the United States, Germany and Japan.

A short video was also released summarizing the hearing protection and hearing check features that will be available in the AirPods Pro 2 software update.
