'Happy Turn Small but Thick' Tasting Review with a large amount of powder that makes you thirsty in one bite

On Monday, July 22, 2024, Kameda Seika released ' Happy Turn Small but Thick '. It is said to be about 40% smaller in volume than the regular product, allowing you to fully enjoy the powder, so I tried comparing it with the regular product to see how much difference it made.

The smallest Happy Turn ever!? 'Happy Turn Small but Rich' to be released on Monday, July 22nd, about 40% smaller in size, but packed with 'that powder' | Kameda Seika Co., Ltd.

On the left is the 'Small but Rich Happy Turn.' On the right is the regular '96g Happy Turn.' Both were provided by Kameda Seika.

The ingredients of 'Happy Turn Small but Thick' (left) and '96g Happy Turn' (right) are as follows. 'Happy Turn Small but Thick' has more starch than sugar compared to '96g Happy Turn', powdered oils and fats / processed starch and vegetable lecithin are not listed, and instead emulsifiers are listed.

The calorie count for 'Happy Turn Small but Rich' is 351 kcal per bag (71g). '96g Happy Turn' is 520 kcal per 100g, and 499.2 kcal per bag (96g). The former has 4.94 kcal per gram, while the latter has 5.2 kcal per gram, so you can see that '96g Happy Turn' is slightly higher.

The 96g Happy Turn is individually wrapped, but the Small but Rich Happy Turn is not. I opened the zipper bag and took out the contents.

On the left is 'Happy Turn Small but Rich' and on the right is '96g Happy Turn'. As you can see, the former is smaller.

'Happy Turn Small but Rich' weighs 2 to 3 grams.

Each bag contained 73g.

The actual weight of the '96g Happy Turn' is 4g.

When checking the powder on the surface, the 'Happy Turn Small but Rich' appears to have a clearly larger amount of powder.

However, I wasn't sure what it was, so I tried lightly scraping it off with a spoon.

On the left is 'Happy Turn Small but Thick' and on the right is '96g Happy Turn'. The former is more common. It's not that the surface area has been reduced, so the powder density has increased and it's actually thicker, but rather it really is thicker.

When you try it, the difference is clear, with the 'Small but Thick Happy Turn' having so much powder that it sticks to your tongue. It's so thick that just one bite will have you wanting a drink, and those who love Happy Turn's powder will literally be salivating. Some tasters said, 'You should try it at least once,' but others said, 'It's so thick that you might not be able to finish the whole bag in a short amount of time,' and 'You can really see that the regular product has just the right amount of powder on it.'

The suggested retail price for 'Happy Turn Small but Rich' is around 138 yen (excluding tax), and will be sold at convenience stores nationwide from July 22, 2023 to the end of August.
