Jared Brick, who runs the YouTube channel Brick House Media , bought an Apple Watch to stay in touch with his son during a family trip to celebrate his 11th birthday.

Brick and his family went to the British Virgin Islands to do some scuba diving, and he used his Apple Watch to check the time and record his diving activities. The Apple Watch is designed to be used at depths of up to 50 meters, so it worked as expected during the dive.

On the last day of the trip, Brick was diving into shallow water in an area called The Baths on Virgin Gorda when his friend was taking a video of him and noticed after a while that his Apple Watch was missing.

'I was so distracted by the beauty of the place that I didn't notice it at the time,' Brick said. Later, when Brick tracked the location of his Apple Watch using the 'Find Me' feature of Apple products, the beach where he had been diving was displayed. However, since he was no longer there, he gave up on getting his Apple Watch back.

However, in December 2023, 18 months after the loss, Brick received a call from a local resident of Virgin Gorda. The person who called Brick had found the Apple Watch on the beach and had a lost message and Brick's phone number displayed on the display, so they called him.

Jonathan, who found Brick's Apple Watch, mailed it to him. The Apple Watch traveled 3,600 miles (about 5,800 km) before being returned to Brick in Felton, California, USA. The Apple Watch was eventually returned to Brick in late April 2024, 22 months after it was lost.

This is the Apple Watch that was returned to Brick after about two years. There are almost no scratches.

Apparently the battery was completely depleted, but it seems to work fine after charging.

'I'm really grateful to Jonathan in the Caribbean for finding this, contacting me and sending it back to me, and I'm also grateful to Apple for developing this amazing technology that actually works,' Brick said.
