The new Framework Laptop 13 model announced by Framework is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra Series 1 or AMD chip, and the display has a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a size of 13.5 inches. In addition, it is possible to select a monitor equipped with a webcam with a 9.2 megapixel image sensor as an option.

The new Framework Laptop 13 equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 1 achieves significant improvements in efficiency and battery life, especially in use cases such as video playback. The Intel Core Ultra Series 1 supports a new graphics architecture, up to six high-performance cores and eight high-efficiency cores, and up to 96GB of large-capacity DDR5 memory, improving productivity performance and significantly improving gaming performance. Mainboards equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 1 will also be available for sale, so you can also replace the mainboard of your existing Framework Laptop 13.

In addition, when adopting the Intel Core Ultra Series 1, Framework has redesigned the thermal system and adjusted the fan control algorithm to keep the system cooler and reduce noise.

The new 2.8K display for the Framework Laptop 13 has a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a display size of 13.5 inches. The new display will also be sold as

a display kit .

The new 2.8K display supports not only a 120Hz refresh rate but also variable refresh rates. The display has a brightness of 500 nits, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and an anti-glare surface. The display corners are rounded because it was customized by reusing a display panel designed for another company. The reason for reusing and customizing a display panel designed for another company will be explained in detail in a future blog. The 2.8k display can also be used with existing Framework Laptop 13.

The webcam, with a 9.2 megapixel image sensor mounted in the bezel of the display, uses a mode that groups each set of four subpixels together to create a large, highly sensitive pixel, like the latest smartphone cameras. This allows for clear image quality, especially in dark places. In addition, it uses a low-noise microphone for clearer audio. This new front camera can also be purchased separately as a webcam module .

With the introduction of the Intel Core Ultra Series 1 models, existing AMD Ryzen 7040 series and 13th Generation Intel Core systems will see price reductions.

The new Framework Laptop 13 equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 1 is currently accepting reservations, with sales prices starting from $899 (about 140,000 yen) for the Ultra 5 125H model, $1229 (about 192,000 yen) for the Ultra 7 155H model, and $1659 (about 260,000 yen) for the Ultra 7 165H model.
