To use AltStore PAL in the EU, you can install it by visiting the AltStore website using an iPhone running iOS 17.4 or later. In order to install AltStore PAL, you must subscribe to a 1.50 euro (about 240 yen) annual subscription to cover Apple's Core Technology Fee (CTF).

According to AltStore PAL developer Riley Testot, all apps on AltStore PAL are self-hosted apps, unlike the App Store. To distribute apps on the App Store, you had to be certified by Apple, download an Alternative Distribution Packet (ADP), and upload app data to a designated server. However, with AltStore PAL, you can distribute apps simply by creating a JSON-formatted file called a 'source' that contains basic app metadata uploaded to a public URL.

In addition, using the source makes it easy to distribute app updates.

When AltStore PAL was first released, it included Delta, an emulator for Nintendo games, and Clip, a clipboard manager. Testot said, 'Once everything is confirmed to be going well, we will open the door to third-party developers to distribute their own apps.' Delta is free to use, but if you want to use Clip, you will need to donate at least 1 euro (about 160 yen) per month via

Patreon .

How to download apps using AltStore PAL is explained in the following article.

In addition, the game emulator Delta included in AltStore PAL can also be downloaded separately from the App Store. According to Testot, the app version of Delta and the AltStore PAL version of Delta are the same.
