Director Minoru Ashina explains the proposal that led to the animation of 'Snack Bus E'

Machi★Asobi vol.27 ' in which director Minoru Ashina himself explained the proposal that he brought to the Young Jump editorial department to make 'Snack Bus E' into an animation, so please take part in the event. I asked him about the passion that was put into his proposal.

At the beginning of the event, director Ashina introduced a post on X (formerly Twitter) that said, ``In the first place, we don't make anime because we like the work.'' In order to challenge this post, he introduced the structure and thoughts behind Snackbusue's proposal, which he created with the single-minded desire to create something he likes.



Director Ashina is a big fan of Snack Bus E and has always said, ``I want to make Snack Bus E into an anime.'' Then, in July 2022, I brought the proposal to the Young Jump editorial department.

First of all, at the beginning of the proposal, the outline of the original work and cast candidates for the main characters were shown. At this time, it seems that he chose scenes and book covers that made Akemi look good and inserted images.



After presenting the outline of the work, we provide information such as ``Costs can be reduced because the characters are fixed,'' and ``Costs can be reduced because the setting of the story is basically fixed,'' and the animation project is planned. It has been shown that it is realistic.



Furthermore, he expressed his enthusiasm by enumerating the reasons why he wants an anime version of Snack Bus E: ``I want to save snacks across the country,'' ``I want to support variety culture,'' and ``I want to introduce snack culture to young people.'' At the bottom of the proposal, it says, ``I just want to go out for drinks,'' and there are some impressive panels from the manga inserted here and there, but the director says that if you're going to entrust the animation of a gag manga, you'd want someone who's funny. That's what he said.



In addition, various collaboration projects were also presented that took advantage of Snack Bus E's characteristic of ``stories set in snack foods.'' As a result of presenting a proposal full of passion, the anime project for Snack Bus E was realized.
