The promo cards were initially distributed free to customers, with one card given out for each related item. However, because resellers bought Van Gogh collaboration goods in droves, the stock quickly ran out.
A Pokémon official statement said , ``In the future, we will actively work to provide more promo cards of ``Pikachu Wearing a Gray Felt Hat'' to fans shopping at Pokémon Centers.'' However, the Van Gogh Museum has announced that it will not be restocking the promo cards that were being distributed due to ``safety and security concerns'' for staff and customers.
The Van Gogh Museum said, ``Recently, a small group of people created an undesirable situation that led us to make the difficult decision to remove the promotional card of Pikachu wearing a gray felt hat from the museum.'' 'Visitors will now be able to experience the Pokemon paintings and special collections, as well as other exhibits at the Van Gogh Museum, in a safe and fun way.'
In addition, as stated in the above statement, the Pokemon official says that it will provide a promo card of ``Pikachu wearing a gray felt hat'' free of charge to users who purchase Pokemon card game related products. However, only one card will be distributed per order, and the card will only be distributed as a bonus when purchasing over $30 (approximately 4,500 yen).
