We have infiltrated 'Nintendo KYOTO' where a giant Mario greets you from inside a clay pipe. Report

On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the directly managed official store ' Nintendo KYOTO' will finally open in Kyoto, where Nintendo's headquarters is located. A preview was held for the media on October 12th, just before the opening, and I was told that I could check out what kind of store Nintendo KYOTO was in, so I sneaked into the store ahead of time, but an adult male... It had a look that even non-Nintendo fans would want to stop by, such as the giant face of Mario.

'Nintendo KYOTO' will have its grand opening on October 17th at Kyoto Takashimaya SC [T8]. You will be invited to the pre-opening by lottery. | Topics | Nintendo

Nintendo KYOTO will open in a corner of Kyoto Takashimaya SC, which will open on October 17, 2023.

Kyoto Takashimaya SC is a combination of the existing Takashimaya Kyoto store (department store zone) and the new specialty store zone ``T8'' that will open as an expanded floor space.

The nearest station is Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, and we recommend exiting through the central ticket gate.

Right in front of you is Entrance 5, which leads to Takashimaya Kyoto store.

There is a new entrance to T8 right next to entrance 5, and you can enter from here.

The nearest station is Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, but on the underpass connecting Hankyu Karasuma Station and Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station, which is one stop away, Nintendo KYOTO advertisements, several dozen meters long, are posted on both sides of the passageway. If you are interested, please check it out.

Of course, you can also enter T8 from the entrance on the ground along Shijo-dori.

A huge statue of Mario's face was displayed next to the entrance on the first floor of T8, and it was quite noticeable from outside the store.

You can take a commemorative photo with Mario from inside the store. It has an overwhelming sense of size even when viewed from the side.

Mario peeks out from inside the clay pipe.

You can see how huge it is compared to the people standing next to it. From inside the store, there is no glass in front of Mario, so you can take photos without worrying about light reflections.

T8 has 2 elevators and 1 escalator, but while I was taking the escalator up to the 7th floor where Nintendo KYOTO is located, advertisements for Nintendo KYOTO were sometimes displayed.

So I arrived at the 7th floor.

When I got off the escalator, Mario related goods were lined up all over the place.

Additionally, Nintendo KYOTO can also be accessed from the department store side. This is what Nintendo KYOTO looks like from the department store side.
