American food manufacturer Kraft Heinz has announced a recall of its single cheese slices after customers choked on pieces of plastic packaging. According to Kraft Heinz, approximately 83,800 cheese slices are subject to the recall.

Kraft Heinz said it was experiencing a temporary issue with one of its packaging machines that could leave a film on the cheese even after the plastic wrapping surrounding the sliced cheese was removed. If you eat sliced cheese with the film still attached, it may cause discomfort, nausea, and a risk of choking.

The issue was discovered after multiple complaints were received from consumers who said they had purchased the affected sliced cheese. It seems that the complaints related to this problem include six complaints such as suffocation. However, there have been no reports of any injuries or serious health problems related to this.

Only the following Kraft Heinz sliced processed cheeses pose a choking hazard.

Kraft Heinz has repaired the packaging machine responsible for packaging the affected products and is thoroughly inspecting all other processing machinery. Consumers who purchased the product can return or exchange it at the store of purchase.

Additionally, in July 2023, the grocery store chain Trader Joe 's issued a recall due to the possibility that their Almond Windmill Cookies, Dark Chocolate Chunks, and Almond Cookies may contain stones.
