A huge big core Mk-III with a total length of about 30 cm appeared at the venue of Wonder Festival 2023 [Summer], so I had no choice but to cast the nostalgic spell 'Umama...'

I came to 'Sankei' at booth number 4-22-06. Shooting game machines are lined up.
Exhibited on the far right is a sample assembly resin kit for the Big Core Mk-III. The total length is about 30cm. Anyway, the impact was enormous, and people who passed by were raising their voices saying 'Wow ... big' without thinking. The prototype of Big Core Mk-III is produced
Big Core Mk-III is a boss that appears in Stage 3 of 'Gradius III Legend to Myth' announced in 1989. You can defeat it by destroying the three blue cores in the center, but to do so you must destroy the four orange barriers in front of each core. Looking at the brilliance of the cores and barriers on display, I felt like throwing a spread bomb at them.
Moreover, the Big Core Mk-III shoots thick lasers from the upper and lower turrets, and a reflected laser that bounces off the inside. The position of this reflected laser is shifted each time it is fired, and if you do not remember the firing pattern, it will be easily destroyed, so the Big Core Mk-III is quite a difficult enemy for first-time players. The details are well reproduced with a thin mold, and the beautiful silver body creates a sense of presence that evokes the frustration of not being able to clear it.
The spell created to memorize this pattern is 'Umama Umama Umama Umama'. 'U' is behind, 'Ma' is in front, avoiding the reflected laser while moving your aircraft back and forth. Once I remembered it, I could wait until it self-destructed due to the passage of time, so when I thought about it, it wasn't so frustrating.
In addition, you can see how to actually capture the big core Mk-III in the following movie.
Displayed next to the Big Core Mk-III is the familiar Vic Viper from the 'Gradius' series. However, since it is an example of PLUM's ' 1/144 Vic Viper ver. Gradius II ', it is not the version of the Vic Viper that fought the Big Core Mk-III. Tobibuta is the creator of this Vic Viper.
Alongside the Vic Viper, Falchion β (prototype production: Nekoyashiki, exhibition sample production: Tobibuta), Jade Knight (prototype production: Nekoyashiki, exhibition sample) appearing in '
In addition, what was exhibited as a new work of Wonder Festival 2023 [Summer] together with Big Core Mk-III was the machine of 'Image Fight II' and OF-3 Garuda's resin that also appeared in '
pod. The body part is made of clear orange resin, and the turret part is also finely made. The price of OF-3 Garuda was 15,000 yen. As the title suggests, 'Image Fight II' is a very kind design that allows you to play the simulated stage first, so if you have never played it, please try it.
