A mysterious camera 'Paragraphica' that shoots using position data and image generation AI without a lens
Photographs can be taken by concentrating the light reflected by the subject with a lens and exposing it to a digital sensor or film. However, `` Paragraphica '' developed by Mr. Bjorn Kalman, a designer living in the Netherlands, does not have the lens necessary for photography, and is a camera that generates landscape photographs using position data and image generation AI.
Paragraphica - Bjørn Karmann
Paragraphica developed by Mr. Kalman looks like this. There is no lens that should be attached to the camera, and instead there is a monument with an unusual shape like a flower.
Three dials and a shutter button on the top. The dials adjust the radius of the shooting area, the stable diffusion seed value, and
The LCD screen on the back shows the Stable Diffusion prompt.
Paragraphica uses an open API to automatically retrieve location data, weather, time and nearby places. It is based on Raspberry Pi 4 and uses Stable Diffusion's API to generate photos on the web.
You can see where you actually shoot with Paragraphica in the following movie.

A camera that takes photos using location data. It describes the place you are at and then converts it into an AI-generated 'photo'.

The image below is the place where Paragraphica was actually shot on the left, the prompt at the time of shooting in the center, and the photo generated by Paragraphica on the right. The streets are somewhat similar, but if you look closely, the cars lined up are completely different, and the design of the buildings is also different.
A photo taken in complete grass with no buildings or cars around. The type of grass is slightly different, but the grassland part is reproduced.
A corner of Amsterdam where some event is held. The photo on the left is during the daytime, but the time period specified in the prompt is 'evening', so the resulting photo on the right is tinted with sunset orange.
According to Mr. Kalman, the image of the flower-like monument attached to Paragraphica is the tactile sense of Hoshibanamogra . Star-nosed moles basically live underground, so they perceive the world not through sight, but through the flower-like sense of touch attached to the tip of their nose. “Paragraphica is not limited to vision alone, but through location data and AI-powered image generation, provides a way to gain deeper insight into the nature of things and experience the world around us from the perspective of other intelligences,” Kalman said. ” commented.
