steed_jacob , mxmrtin , and outlookable have also reported problems with SSDs not being remountable. When Ars Technica's Lee Hutchinson checked on his terminal, read and write errors occurred frequently when the two 2TB Extreme Pro drives were half filled, and when the SSD was disconnected and mounted again, It seems that the drive has been completely erased, including the file system. In addition, it seems that both 2TB Extreme Pro whose data has been erased remained unformatted.

There has been little official response from SanDisk on this issue, but when contacted by Ars Technica, 'Some customers have experienced issues with 4TB SanDisk Extreme (SDSSDE61-4T00) and Extreme Pro (SDSSDE81-4T00). We are aware of reports that this issue has been resolved and we will be posting a firmware update on our website in the near future.' However, since SanDisk only mentioned a 4TB SSD, Ars Technica 'didn't answer questions about whether the 2TB model would be addressed and when exactly the fix would come.' bottom.
