Later, the National Center for Biodefense and Infectious Diseases at George Mason University tested whether chicken-produced antibodies help prevent humans from becoming infected with the new coronavirus.
Antibodies that can be extracted from vaccinated and immunized chicken egg yolks and sera have both been found to correctly recognize SARS-CoV-2. Studies have also shown that antibodies in chicken serum were more effective in neutralizing the new coronavirus, because 'the amount of antibody in the blood is higher than in egg yolk.'
