In this study, led by researchers at Anglia Ruskin University and Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences, researchers recruited 64 adult participants from Europe for 21 days of hunger and various emotional well-being. Recorded the indicator.

Participants were encouraged to report their feelings and hunger five times a day using a smartphone app, and data was collected in their daily environment, such as at work or at home.

As a result, hunger is associated with strong emotions of anger and frustration, low evaluation of joy, and its effects include demographic factors such as age and gender, obesity, eating behavior, and personality traits of individuals. Even with that in mind, it turned out to be quite large. We also found that negative emotions such as frustration, anger, and discomfort are caused by daily changes in hunger, as well as accumulated daily hunger.

'Many of us recognize that hunger affects emotions, but surprisingly few studies focus on hunger,' said Willen Swami, who was involved in the study. It doesn't show how to alleviate the emotions that come from hunger, but people may be able to suppress negative emotions and behaviors by being more aware of being hungry. '
