Sandberg joined Facebook (now Meta) in 2008 and has been supporting the company's growth for many years. From my position as a mother of two children, I have been involved in activities to widely inform women about the challenges they face in the workplace, and have supported women through the non-profit organization Lean In.Org that I launched.

Sandberg posted a statement to Meta to announce his resignation. He talked about the joy of developing a service that was nothing more than a small startup with the team, and that hundreds of millions of people used Meta's services to communicate and succeed in their business.

'It's time to write the next chapter in life,' Sandberg said as he resigned from his 14-year job. He said he would marry a new husband in the summer of 2022 and raise five people, including a child born to his former husband who died. The official retirement will be in the fall of 2022, but he will continue to be a member of the company as a director even after he retires from the COO. Javier Oliván, Chief Growth Officer of Meta, will replace him.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, 'Cheryl was a very nice person, leader, partner and friend. She taught me a lot. How many years have we been? Even when she overcame the challenge of having children and supported me and Priscilla (Zuckerberg's wife, Priscilla Chan) through the various changes that the company has made over the years, I Our partnership has always been deeper than just business. It's sad that the day will come when we'll lose our close relationship with Cheryl, but above all, everything she's done to build Meta. I am grateful to you . '
