A new Star Wars novel is apparently featuring Final Fantasy X's 'Blitzball'

Published in the United States on May 10, 2022, Brotherhood is a novel set during the Clone Wars that tells the story of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and depicts the period before and after Anakin ascends to the rank of Jedi Knight.

Furthermore, creator Mike Chen himself has revealed that the name of 'Blitzball,' a sport that is set to be extremely popular in the world of FFX, will appear in Brotherhood.

Blitzball is an underwater sport that combines rugby and hockey, and is played by Tidus and Wakka, the main characters of FFX. The following movie shows blitzball being played in the game.

Cheng shared his inspiration for writing Brotherhood on Twitter, saying, 'The game references a sport called Blitzball, played on a local lake. Blitzball is an underwater hockey game that can be played as a mini-game in FFX. As a former NHL writer, I have an obsessive love for Blitzball and spent hours playing it, winning a league.'

According to Chen, there are a total of 42 secrets hidden in the Brotherhood, including cameos from characters from the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order game.
