Therefore, it is reported that Tesla's Shanghai factory has been preparing for employees to stay overnight and work from April 17th. Tesla has issued a special permit for employees and has arranged a shuttle bus to work at the factory. According to Bloomberg, a total of 400 employees who live in the lowest-risk areas and who have completed two vaccinations have been ordered to work at the factory.

Employees working at the Shanghai factory are required to undergo a daily PCR test for the first three days, check their body temperature twice a day, and wash their hands four times a day. In addition, three meals will be served in the factory, and a salary of about 400 yuan (about 8,000 yen) will be paid per day.

In addition, sleeping bags and mattresses were provided to each employee. Since the factory does not have employee dormitories or accommodations, employees need to lay a mattress in a designated place in the factory to sleep. It is also reported that showers and entertainment facilities are available, although they are not completed at the time of writing the article.

Tesla's Shanghai factory is originally open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with 3 shifts. It is said that the employees worked in a cycle of two days off after going to work for four days. At the time of writing the article, which was a stay-over, the employees are working 12 hours a day in a cycle of 6 days of continuous work and 1 day off.

It is reported that the overnight life will last until May 1st, but it is expected to change depending on the measures taken by the city of Shanghai. Bloomberg also said that even if the factory is operated overnight, the parts inventory of the factory is only about two weeks, and the supply of parts will be a big problem in terms of logistics.
