Russia's Federal Communications, Information and Technology and Media Regulatory Authority enacted in late 2020 and registered Netflix as an 'audiovisual service' on the regulated list under a law scheduled to come into force in March 2022. This will require Netflix to deliver 20 channels, including Channel 1 , which has the largest share in Russia, NTV , which focuses on entertainment, and Spas of the Russian Orthodox Church.

In addition to providing state-run broadcasts, Russian authorities have requested Netflix to comply with Russia, and Netflix will be banned from distributing content that the Russian authorities have determined to promote 'radicalism' and content related to LGBTQIA +. There is also the possibility.

According to the authorities, the law applies to streaming services with more than 100,000 daily users, which could affect other streaming services such as Prime Video.

Russia is tightening regulations on foreign companies, and in November 2021, American companies such as Apple, Google, and Twitter will be obliged to set up offices in Russia for companies operating on the Russian Internet. It is reported that the law requires that an office be established by 2022.
