The newly announced C7g is an instance that offers the best value for money on Amazon EC2 for compute-intensive workloads such as high-performance computing (HPC), games, video encoding, and CPU-based machine learning inference. family. It was the first instance in the cloud to have state-of-the-art DDR5 memory that offered 50% more bandwidth than DDR4 memory, with 20 network bandwidth compared to the previous generation C6g with the Graviton 2 processor. % Improvement. In addition, it supports Elastic Fabric Adapters (EFAs) for applications such as HPC that require a high level of node-to-node communication.

The C7g's featured Graviton 3 processor is the latest model in the Graviton series, custom-designed by AWS to offer the best price performance for Amazon EC2 workloads. Compute performance is up to 25% better than the previous generation Graviton 2, floating point performance is up to 2x, and cryptographic workload performance is 2x faster. In addition, support for bfloat16 and fp16 instructions provides up to three times the performance of CPU-based machine learning workloads compared to Graviton 2. In addition to the always-on 256-bit memory encryption available in Graviton 2, it also supports pointer authentication for enhanced security.

Another feature of the C7g instance is that it is built on the AWS Nitro System. The AWS Nitro System is a combination of dedicated hardware and software created for performance and security, and Amazon describes it as 'a collection of innovations in hardware and software.'

The Amazon EC2 instance with the AWS Graviton family processor, including the C7g, is compatible with many popular Linux operating systems such as Amazon Linux 2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Suse Enterprise Linux Server, and Ubuntu. It also supports many popular applications and services such as security, monitoring / management, containers, CI / CD, etc. provided by Linux and independent software vendors. A preview request is already available for C7g, and you can request it from the link below.
