The number of employees does not include the number of drivers undertaking delivery, and the number of new employees hired in the second quarter was 64,000.

Wal-Mart, a supermarket giant with 1.6 million employees, has the highest number of employees in the United States, and Amazon has the second highest number of employees. The number of Amazon employees worldwide is 1.3 million.

The number of workers in the United States is said to be about 161 million as of June 2021, which means that one out of 169 American workers works at Amazon. Also, in the case of Wal-Mart, it is calculated as 1 in 100 people.

Brian Olsavsky, CFO of Amazon, said Amazon is still in high demand for the workforce. '(The workforce) is probably one of the big factors in inflation in our business.
