According to the Internet Archive, the traffic of the site had reached 30 Gbps as of 2019, but it increased rapidly to 40 Gbps in the beginning of 2020. This is a communication volume equivalent to 13 petabytes when converted into monthly communication volume.

Furthermore, as the new coronavirus epidemic spreads, the ranking of Internet archives in the Alexa Internet ranking jumped from around 250 to 161 . The amount of communication reached 50 Gbps, which greatly exceeded the processing capacity of the existing network infrastructure, causing a delay in data collection.

Therefore, the Internet Archive has begun to expand its infrastructure with donations and other sources of funding. We newly added two new routers equipped with the latest transmission / reception ports and started operation. As a result, the communication capacity of the Internet archive has increased by 30% or more from the previous 47 Gbps to 62 Gbps. Converting 62 Gbps into monthly traffic will be 20 petabytes . However, in the graph below, the communication volume has already reached the limit of 62 Gbps, and it is expected that the situation will continue to be urgent.

Therefore, the Internet Archive continues to collect donations in an effort to further enhance its facilities, and if you would like to help, you can make a donation from the link below.
