Giant drone "Megacorter" lifting 60 kg of baggage establishes Guinness new record

Huge drone with 48 rotors (propeller) "Megacopter"Established the world new record in the Guinness world record category" Heaviest payload lifted by a remote-controlled multicopter "(the heaviest cargo lifted by remote-controlled multi-copter). This megacopter can rise with carrying cargo exceeding 60 kg, and in theory it has the performance which human beings can ride as well.

This record was established by Mr. Henning Pedersen belonging to Oslo University in Norway and the student's production team. The created drone "Megacorter" is equipped with 48 motors, eight units in a circle with six rotors set per set.


The criterion for Guinness records is that "the bottom of the cargo can be lifted to a height of 1 meter or more for more than 30 seconds." The moment of establishing a new record is contained in the following movie.

Megacopter to jump up and raise. On the screen is written that "This record accomplishment was done as part of the Oslo University (UIO) experimental project aiming to promote engineering and science education in Norway."
