According to security researcher Emil Kvarnhamma, backdoor which can be switched to root authority which enables all operations from any user probably exists in Apple's OS X since 2011. This back door function was used for system setup etc, but there is no access restriction, any user can switch to root privilege.

This backdoor was discovered by Kvarnhamma in October 2014 and is personally reported to Apple.

Although the backdoor problem has been solved with the latest Apple OS X 10.10.3 released on April 9, 2015, due to significant changes, vulnerable OS X 10.9.x or earlier Since it is decided not to apply patches,Update to OS X 10.10.3It seems better to do it.
