Free Air Self Defense Force theme park 'Air Park' is full of charm as long as it is charged.

Next to the Air Self Defense Force Hamamatsu Base in Shizuoka Prefecture "Air Park / Air Self Defense Force Hamamatsu Public Relations Hall"Is the first theme park of the Air Self Defense Force that opened in 1999. Besides exhibiting fighter aircraft and helicopter inside the hall, we are able to know the activities of the Air Self Defense Force deeply, and in addition, we actually went there because admission fee is free.

The air park is located in Nishiyama Town, Nishi-ku, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

This is Nike J bullet / launcher. Nike J bullet is 12.5 m in length, the launcher is under the Nike J bullet and sets the launch angle of the missile. The range of the missile is about 130 Km.


The H21B rescue helicopter has a total length of 16.04 m and an overall width of 2.45 m.

After observing the outdoor exhibits all the way, when I was heading to the entrance of the air park, I discovered the F - 86 F blue impulse which showed the aerial display at the Tokyo Olympic Olympic Games Market and the 1970 Osaka World Exposition. Even by looking at outdoor exhibits, the mood has risen.

First of all, I flew into the eyes of support fighter F - 2.


Since there are not many opportunities to see fighter aircraft so close, I'll take a closer look from behind.

Since there are various missions such as stopping the ship that is about to land in Japan and intercepting the intruder into the airspace, F - 2 is equipped with air - to - ship Missiles, bombs and air-to-air missiles can be installed.


Not only the aircraft but also the features of F - 2 and the materials used are explained by the panel so you can enjoy it without any knowledge of fighter aircraft.


Next to F-2, a basic black-and-white transonic sound pressure wind tunnel test model (scale 1/14) is displayed, featuring a completely black body.


Originally named XF-2, F-2 was finished all the exams at the end of June 2000 and was deployed as the F-2 on the third flight of Misawa base on October 3 the same year .

I found the engine called J-79-IHI-11A which is installed in the F-104J / DJ fighter aircraft at the back of the first floor. It is amazing at its size.

There was a blue impulse corner on the second floor.


I enjoyed beautiful photos of Blue Impulse.


Besides the blue impulse corner, a model of the aircraft is displayed.


It is an early warning machine that something like a disk is mounted on the aircraft.


This is the equipment of the crew member who boards the aircraft.


The most visible on the second floor was a line metal aircraft 20 mm 2 consecutive cannons.


The range of line metal aircraft 20 mils 2 guns is 2000 m.

In the exhibit hangar, I lend pilot suit for free. You can wear a pilot suit and watch aircraft.


Use of pilot suit is only exhibition hangar, lending time is 15 minutes.

This is the T - 1A Jet Training Machine. The T - 1A Jet Training Machine is the first domestically produced jet aircraft in Japan, and it is said that it is using engine parts only made in England.


The T - 33A jet training machine was used in the basic handling course of the Air Self Defense Force Pilot Education until autumn 1990.


Among the aircraft being exhibited, there are also things that you can actually get into the cockpit, one of which is the F-1 Support Fighter.


With that in mind I decide to get on the cockpit.


The experience of wearing a pilot suit and sitting in a cockpit is exceptional.


There are instruments that I have never seen before in the cockpit.



When I got off the F - 1 support fighter plane and looked up, I discovered the Zero Fighter Type II Armor.


I went back to the second floor and I saw that brave figure in my eyes.


F-86F, the first aircraft of Blue Impulse, a musical flight squad belonging to the Air Self Defense Force. I seemed to be able to get on the cockpit of F - 86F, but I did not test drive on the day I visited.


I found a matrix on the opposite side of F - 86F.


The purpose of the person who is making the queue is the T - 2 supersonic higher practice aircraft which is the second generation body of the blue impulse.


The T - 2 supersonic high - level training machine blows a flame at takeoff by combustion of the installed smoke oil at high temperature.

The biggest one is the V107 rescue helicopter with a total length of 25.4 m.

Engines such as J-33 other than aircraft were also exhibited.


After observing the exhibition hangar all the way, we moved to the 3rd floor. On the third floor, you can watch books, videos and DVDs on the Air Self Defense Force.


In addition, it is also possible to take a break with a coffee shop called "Sky Lounge FUJI" on the third floor.


I found a corner where many people gathered when I am walking up the third floor.


This is a simple flight simulator, very popular with children.


When coming back to the lobby, a lot of people were lined up at the reception.


People making a queue seem to be lining up to get the tickets for all the Tian Wei Theater.


You can appreciate the movie of the Air Self Defense Force at the Allen Weather Theater. As the screening is performed 6 times a day, movies with different contents are broadcasted, so if you have time to see, you need to confirm the ticket distribution time at the reception.


This time I got an appreciation ticket for "the rescue team of the sky". When the screening time approached, we entered from the entrance of the whole celestial theater on the second floor.


The All-Tennis Theater is full of people.


You can enjoy a powerful image on the screen installed on the whole ceiling.


This completes the tour of all the air park facilities. The observation time was about 3 hours. There are plenty of things to see in the airplane, watching many aircraft, wearing a pilot suit, watching a powerful image at the All-Sky Theater, and having fun. Also, I felt it was too advantageous to be able to experience all of it free of charge.
