'Health for junk!' is the policy of the French fries specialty store 'Robson Fries' Tasting review
I went to Robson Fries , a French fry specialty store that has the strong motto of 'healthy junk!' and is particular about frying its fries in 100% rice bran oil, and enjoyed a hearty serving of French fries.
Robson Fries
We arrived at the store in the midst of a light rain. The sign that read 'Sweet Potato' was cute.
The interior of the store has warm lighting and a very stylish atmosphere.
The walls are covered with colorful painted wood that looks like bricks.
The restaurant is very small, with only three stand tables like the ones in the photo. You can't sit opposite each other, so you have to sit in couple style.
This is the menu. Their main dish is ' poutine ,' fries topped with cheese and homemade sauce. Of course, you can also order regular fries without cheese.
Poutine can be topped with a variety of toppings, and with so many options it can be hard to know what to choose, so the restaurant provides examples of recommended toppings.
Among them, I discovered something called a 'challenge menu.'
'Everything on it.' That's right, the challenge menu is one with all the toppings on it.
It takes about 7 minutes to fry the fries after you order them. It's not that long for hot fries. I decided to wait for a while.
As I sat down, I happened to look in front of me and saw a poster that read, 'Robson Fries' Commitment.' It loudly proclaimed their policy of 'healthy junk food!'

Provocative condiments.
When frying the fries, the staff always shouts 'Sei!' to inject enthusiasm. If it's your first time, it might be a bit surprising.
At Robson Fries, our fries are carefully fried twice.
Arrived in exactly 7 minutes.
The top is poutine GRAVY, and the bottom is butter chicken curry. Both are small size.
And one more large container, which I'll leave for later.
First, I decided to try the gravy, which is the most popular dish. I snapped open the container.
The aroma of potatoes and cheese fills the air.
What a shine! The gravy sauce is a beautiful golden color.
I'll pick one potato.
The rich cheese and sauce are perfectly combined. I couldn't help but take a bite.
The surface is moist with cheese and sauce, but the inside is fluffy and soft like French fries.
The fries in the corner are not covered in cheese or sauce.
When you pinch it and put cheese on it...
The cheese is very smooth and surprisingly light with no particular flavor, so you'll find yourself eating the fries at a faster pace.
Next up is butter chicken curry.
You can see plenty of cheese in the curry.
Stab it with a fork and take a bite.
It's not too spicy, but has a strong, fragrant curry flavor. This slightly bitter curry goes really well with potatoes.
There is a lot of cheese inside, but the smell of curry is so strong that you can't really taste the cheese.
The chicken came out, thoroughly soaked in curry.
Finally, I opened the large pack that I had been putting off, and inside was the challenge menu 'All Toppings'. Unfortunately, the roast beef was out of stock that day, so it wasn't exactly 'all toppings', but it still had an overwhelming amount of toppings.
The difference compared to the S size is astounding!
I don't know where to start.
A mountain of fried onions and fried garlic.
Onion bacon and meatballs.
sausage.
Paprika and triple mushroom are buried.
corn.
Popcorn chicken.
I was overwhelmed by the amount of toppings, but I continued eating. With so many different toppings, the taste of the fries was given variety, and I ended up eating more and more than I expected. Before I knew it, I had finished the whole thing.
The fries fried in rice oil were very light and delicious, making it a fast food that you could gobble down in no time. The challenge menu with all the toppings is perfect for a few people to share, but it's still fries, so be careful not to eat too much as you'll be full after finishing.
