Space elevator technology competition is a competition aimed at accumulating technology for the realization of space elevator.


The 3 rd competition was held in the Osawa fan in Shizuoka Prefecture Fujinomiya City in the beginning of August 2011.


First we started from setting up a competition venue.


Even if it is said to be a space elevator, we can not actually hang the cable from space, so a balloon that will rise high will be the alternative.


There seemed to be some people participating with children because of summer vacation.


In this way, raise the balloon to a height of 600 m and fix it with three anchors.


The elevator goes up with the cable hanging from that balloon.


The goal is far above, so I will check with these video cameras.

This belt tester was used as a cable for the elevator to go up first.


It is connected with the goal point by LAN and it can measure how fast the elevator arrived.
