Toei Robot Girls Laboratory opened featuring Super Robots personified as Cute Girls

In March we've reported the launching of "Toei Robot Girls Project" from TAF 2009.

At long last, the official website of the project "Toei Robot Girls Laboratory" has opened, featuring a weekly yonkoma comic-strip and other contents providing us some close look at the life of moe-personified super robots.

Gaiking, nicknamed "Gai-chan". Loves baseball, aspires to someday strike out Ichiro.

Ga-keen, nicknamed "Gackee". Big fan of martial arts, she hero-worships Andy Hug.

Barattack nicknamed "Bara-tan". She wants to be an American football player but can't wear a helmet because of her head-piece.

To declare the establishment Toei Robot Girls Laboratory, the following speech was made by Professor K at the kitchen of Toei Animation's Ohizumi studio.

Our planet Earth is under the threat of attack from outerspace.
There is no basis, but somehow I get the distinct feeling.

Here we establish Toei Robot girls Laboratory to protect our mother planet from the evil hands of invaders.
We should research the super robots who saved our planet in the past, and bestow the legendary power on cute girls.
Cute girls should be the hope of all mankind.

Now, shall we rise, with the Girls!!!!

The first DVD volume of Magne Robo Gakeen is to come out on July 21, and a DVD release of Great Sky Demon Dragon Gaiking is decided as well. We don't get many chance to watch these 70's robot anime nowadays, so hopefully this Robot Girls Project will gain attentions and lead to more reruns and DVDs.
