Picture of the catacombs in the basement of London

The place is a cemetery in the south of London, West Norwood. I did not think that this space is spreading in the basement of the church. There are catacombs that are open to the public as a sightseeing spot in Rome and Paris, but this place has a slightly inaccessible atmosphere.

Details are as follows.

Elevate the table with the coffin by a hydraulic manual pump.

An opening to lower a coffin from the church. It seems that the lid is now being done with stones.

Along the aisle, there are shelves on both sides to place the coffin.

The kind of coffin is various.

It looks like a coffin that is not so old.

It looks pretty old here. The trees are pretty damaged.

Discovered signboards are found in unused areas. This joint cemetery seems to be made by The South Metropolitan Cemetary Company in July 1876.
