Voluntary collection of Lenovo, IBM and Sony batteries started

"ThinkPad T43" had caused a smoke accident at Los Angeles International Airport on September 16, 2006, but the cause is still Sony's battery.

In other words, it is speculated that 5 to 10% of ThinkPad notebook PCs sold in February 2005 to September 2006 are related to batteries to be collected voluntarily.

So, although voluntary collection was decided, the target models to be collected are as follows.

T series (T43, T43p, T60)
X series (X60, X60s)
R series (R51e, R52, R60, R60e)

Further, the manufacturing part number and maintenance part number of the target battery are as follows.
Manufacture part number Maintenance part number
(ASM P / N) (FRU P / N)
92P1072 92P1073
92P1088 92P1089
92P1142 92P1141
92P1170 92P1169 or 93P5028
