Dave2D obtained the new PS5 that comes bundled with 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.'

This is the main body.

The new PS5 (left) weighs 2.6 kg for the digital edition without a disk drive, and 3.2 kg for the regular model. On the other hand, the conventional model weighs 3.4 kg for the digital edition and 3.9 kg for the regular model. If you compare them side by side, you can see that they are a little more compact.

The new PS5 is on the left and the previous model is on the right. Both are standard models with disk drives.

The controller's DualSense remains unchanged.

The panel of the new PS5 is divided into upper and lower parts, with the upper side having a glossy finish and the lower side having a matte finish.

When removing the top panel on the disk drive side, there was a cooling fan and a slot for an expansion SSD.

Remove the bottom panel to find the disk drive.

The disk drive can be removed by putting your finger on the back side (left side). Easy to remove without tools.

It can be easily restored to its original state by simply pressing it with your hand.

Remove the screw holding the vertical part on the top right to reveal the expansion SSD slot.

It supports M.2 SSD, and if you use

a dedicated SSD, you can increase the storage and load at the same level as the internal SSD.

The old model (left) had a large number of intake and exhaust ports around the fan, but the new model (right) does not.

This is what it looks like from the front. The main body has become slimmer, and the lack of intake and exhaust ports makes it even slimmer.

Use it by inserting it into the gap between the panels like this.

However, this stand is for horizontal use; if you want to use it vertically, you will need to purchase

a special stand .

The I/O ports on the front are 1 x USB-A port and 1 x USB-C port on the old model (left), but have been changed to 2 x USB-C ports on the new model (right). Also, the port position has been moved to the bottom.

Although the layout of the I/O ports on the back has changed, the configuration remains the same.

The image below shows the temperature and exhaust sound of the main unit when it was left on for 8 hours. The temperature of the new model is 62 to 64 degrees, and the exhaust sound is 43 dB.

The temperature of the old model was 60 to 63 degrees, and the exhaust sound was 44 dB.

The new model's power consumption during various game play is slightly higher than the old model. In fact, the power consumption of the old PS5 model is 350W, while the new model seems to have slightly increased to 370W.

The built-in fan looks like this.

The shield and board are integrated.

The custom SoC is covered in liquid metal just like the old model, and is ``probably not equipped with a new chip.''

The new PS5 model is scheduled to be released on Friday, November 10, 2023, and the selling price in Japan is 66,980 yen including tax for the regular model (with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive), and the digital edition. The price is 59,980 yen including tax.
